In August 2019, the Central Government abolished Article 370 of the Indian Constitution, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir. As a result, the government decided to divide the state into two Union Territories: Jammu and Kashmir, which would have a legislature, and Ladakh, which would not. Article 370 stated that, except for matters concerning defence, foreign affairs, communications, and issues specified in the Instrument of Accession of Jammu and Kashmir, Parliament required the state government's approval for all other laws. Until then, residents of the state had lived under a distinct set of laws, covering citizenship, property ownership, and fundamental rights.

This significant development is now part of Indian history, and today, Bollywood enthusiasts received a treat with the release of the trailer for the Yami Gautam-starrer "Article 370." As the title implies, the film revolves around this topic of national importance.
