Article 370, starring Yami Gautam and Priyamani, had a steady Tuesday at the box office. After passing the Monday test by collecting ₹3.25 crore, the movie earned ₹3.25 crore net on Tuesday as well. The film, which is directed by Aditya Suhas Jambhale has been produced by Aditya Dhar and has become a top choice for Hindi moviegoers as there isn't much competition in its second week.
The movie was released on February 23 and it made ₹5.9 crore on its Day 1 in India. The movie went on to mint good numbers during the weekend, thanks to good word of mouth. Article 370 collected ₹7.4 crore on Saturday and ₹9.6 crore on Sunday. The total collection of the film now stands at ₹29.40 crore net in India.
If this Yami Gautam-starrer keeps up with its pace and stays steady at the ticket window, it has the potential to enter the ₹100-crore club. Even though we are discussing a distant future, everything will depend on how well the movie does at the box office throughout the week and its second weekend.
Yami Gautam-starrer has managed to collect ₹36 crore worldwide so far. The film collected a total of ₹5.4 crore in the international markets. However, ban in Gulf countries have affected its overseas collection at some level.
On February 23, Article 370 competed with Vidyut Jammwal and Arjun Rampal-starrer Crakk at the box office. However, Yami's film has been a clear winner, Crakk minted only ₹10.71 crore net in India so far.
Aditya Suhas Jambhale portrays the events that conspired in the abrogation of Article 370 on the 5th of August, 2019. The film stars Yami Gautam as Zooni Haskar, an NIA officer, and Priyamani as Rajeshwari Swaminathan, who assigns Zooni to repeal Article 370.
