Arun Vijay's Borrder release date locked! The team drops an intense poster

​After a long delay, the release date of Arun Vijay's Borrder is finally locked. The spy thriller is all set to hit screens on February 24 and the makers dropped a new poster to announce the same. Arun Vijay is seen getting ready for a fight in the same. The star cast includes Arun Vijay, Regina Cassandra, Stey Patel, Bagavathi Perumal, Shan Sharif Khan and Chandrasekhar Koneru to name a few. The film marks the fourth collaboration between Arun Vijay and Arivazhagan after Eeram (2009), Kuttram 23 (2017), Tamil Rockerz (2022) and Borrder (2023).

Borrder has been long in the making but the release was held back indefinitely due to multiple reasons, which includes the pandemic-induced lockdown and the Chennai floods in 2021. It was later scheduled to release on October 5. Music is by Sam CS, lyrics by Viveka and Arivu, cinematography by B Rajasekar and editing by VJ Sabu Joseph. The film was initially titled Zindabad but was later changed to Borrder. The plot is said to revolve around terrorism and its repercussions. It is said that Arun Vijay plays a character from the Defence Intelligence Agency.

Arun Vijay also has in his kitty Boxer, Achcham Enbadhu Illaiye and it is said that he has replaced Suriya in director Bala's next, Vanangaan. Suriya had walked out of the film last year after creative differences cropped up between him and the film's director. Later, Bala had issued a statement that though he wanted to work with Suriya, it was in the best interests of everyone that Suriya opted out of the film. He added that Suriya was upset about the decision and it was done for the greater good. The film will now roll with Arun Vijay in the lead.
