Aruna Irani: Played Sanjay Dutt's mother in his debut film and seduced him in his next

Veteran actor Aruna Irani has recently made headlines for her statement on playing Sanjay Dutt's onscreen mother in Rocky, released in 1981. And immediately after that, she was seen as a seductress to the actor in Johny I Love You, which was released the very next year. Irani recalled this interesting fact and shared that she is still surprised at how people accepted it back then.

In an interview with The Times of India, the actor stated that she has worked with a wide range of film actors and there's no one in particular that she would like to single out because everyone was a pleasure to work with. Irani shared that Dutt was also a pleasure to work with. She revealed that in his first film, she played his mother, and in his second, she seduced him. Irani is still baffled as to how people accepted that back then, and even now.

Interestingly, Irani was also paired opposite Amitabh Bachchan in Bombay to Goa. Talking about the same, the veteran actor told the daily that it was a pleasure to collaborate with him. It was fun working with him because he was new and she was new as well. Irani revealed that they both assisted each other during the dance sequence because she didn't know much about dancing and Bachchan didn't know much about it either. 

The Haseena Maan Jayegi actor went on to share that she had been offered Bobby two years after Caravan and Bombay to Goa. The actor said that despite the success of her films, Caravan and Bombay to Goa, she was unable to find work. Two years later, she received a call from Raj Kapoor, who offered her a role in Bobby. She accepted the offer, and Bobby went on to become a box office hit. 

Irani added that it was only because Bobby fared so well that her career got back on track, and there was no turning back after that. She took on character roles, cameo appearances, and any other opportunities that came her way, but she never slowed down in her profession or personal life.
