It was on October 3, 2021, when superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan got arrested and later released on bail. However, developments around this news has not died down yet.
In a fresh update, Sameer Wankhede, Former Zonal Director of Mumbai Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has levied charges that he is being threatened to death as he is standing against the family of the actor.
“I'm getting threats continuously for the last four days. Will share everything with the Police Commissioner...,” told Wankhede to reporters.
Noting this, Mumbai Court has asked the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to file their reply by June 3. The next hearing on the matter is on June 8. Meanwhile, Sameer Wankhede has been granted interim relief until then.
For those unversed about the case, let us tell you the details. The NCB arrested Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan on October 3, 2021, after the alleged drug seizure on the Cordelia cruise ship near Mumbai.
On this, “the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) booked Wankhede and four others for alleged criminal conspiracy and threat of extortion apart from bribery-related provisions under the Prevention of Corruption Act. The CBI alleged that some NCB officers conspired to take bribes from the accused individuals in lieu of letting them go free,” reported Business Today.
The news portal added, Sameer Wankhede has been accused of attempting to extort Rs 25 crore from Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan in lieu of securing Aryan Khan’s bail in the drugs bust case. The NCB initiated a vigilance probe against Sameer Wankhede and other officers. The investigation is underway.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in the film Jawan that is slated to be released in September this year.
