As Bholaa Shankar streams on OTT, director Meher Ramesh continues to face new trolls

Bholaa Shankar is Chiranjeevi's latest release which hit the screens on August 11, 2023. The action drama was directed by Meher Ramesh. From the day the trailer of the film was released, Bholaa Shankar carried a very low buzz. Until a week prior to its release, not many even knew that a Chiranjeevi film was coming out in the first place. 

The pre-release event and Chiranjeevi's back-to-back interviews changed things. But sadly, all this did not help as Bholaa Shankar opened to a very bad talk from the first show itself. The flop talk was out and the film fell flat after just three days of its release.

By Monday, the film was even out of several theaters. Bholaa Shankar only made under Rs 40 crores in its full run. The makers have lost up to Rs 45 crores on this film and most of the distributors have gone bankrupt due to the film's failure.

We at OTTplay have already reported that Netflix has grabbed the digital rights of the film for a massive price. The film is now streaming on Netflix and is getting a lot of traction in the wrong way. Screenshots of the film are being shared online and director Meher Ramesh is being trolled brutally.

Chiranjeevi imitated his brother Pawan Kalyan in a few scenes in Bholaa Shankar and most of the fans feel that it looks like a cringe-fest. Comments are being passed as to how Chiranjeevi gave such a big responsibility to Meher Ramesh who had not directed a film in the last twelve years. Keerthy Suresh plays Chiranjeevi's sister in the film and this role was offered to Sai Pallavi who rejected the film right away. 

Producer Anil Sunkar faced big losses with Bholaa Shankar as his previous film, Agent with Akhil was also a disaster at the box office. Chiranjeevi is now prepping for his new film which is being directed by Vassisht of Bimbisara fame.
