Hidimbha on OTT: An interesting update about the Ashwin Babu, Nandita Swetha starrer's digital release is here

Hidimba is a film that caught the attention of one and all. The film had Ashwin Babu in the lead role and Nandita Swetha played the female lead. The action drama was written and directed by Anil Kannegnati and was released on July 20, 2023. 

It received a mixed response from the audience. Ashwin Babu made a solid makeover with this film and he was seen as a cannibal in the film. Well, we at OTTplay had already reported that the film's OTT rights had been bagged by Aha and will be out on August 10, 2023. 

Well, the news now is that the makers have added extra eight minutes for the OTT screenings. Some key scenes that were deleted for the theatrical screening have now been added to give the film an enhanced viewing for the audience.

The film is about the missing of multiple girls in the city of Hyderabad. The investigation then reveals that the murderer belongs to the man-eating Hidimbha clan. The last twenty minutes of the film is where all the action happens as the manner in which Ashwin Babu's character gets a major twist is revealed in a solid manner surprising the audience in a big way.

Hidimbha is bankrolled by Sreedhar Gangapatnam under SVK Cinemas in collaboration with Anil Sunkara’s AK Entertainments. The film earned decent reviews upon release but had a modest run at the box office. 

Within three weeks of its theatrical release, Hidimbha is all set for its OTT premiere. We need to see how the film will fare in its digital screening. Watch this space for more updates on this project.
