Sampath Nandi came into the limelight as he bagged a golden chance to direct Ram Charan for a movie titled Racha. The action drama ended as a mass hit and made him a bankable director. During the second wave of COVID-19, he penned a story and dialogues for a village thriller titled Odela Railway Station, which can now be streamed on OTTplay Premium.
Three years later, Sampath Nandi and Ashok Teja have teamed up again for the sequel Odela 2. The special aspect is that they roped in Tamannaah Bhatia as the female lead. She plays a Naga Sadhu in the film, and this is the first time that the Naa Nuvve actress has done such a de-glam role in her career. The makers promoted the film on an aggressive note as Odela 2 was released on April 17, 2025, to a mixed word of mouth.
During the climax, the makers announced Odela 3 and surprised the audience. Not many had a clue that part three was coming. But how the third instalment was announced did not go well with many. The announcement was made on a hasty note without any clarity or justification for the climax of Part 2. All those who have seen the film are commenting on the same thing about how the makers have rushed the announcement.
Tamannaah Bhatia, who has done films like Oosaravelli, is the show-stealer and has given an impressive performance. Her performance in the second half of the film was quite good. Vassishtha, who has been a struggling actor for a long time, has given his best performance in the film and is being lauded for his work.
Ajaneesh Lokanath has composed music for Odela 2, and his BGM is one of the highlights. Amazon Prime Video has bagged the digital rights to the film for a fancy price and will stream the thriller in the second week of May 2025. As there is yet another important film, Arjun S/o Vyjayanthi, that is all set to release on April 18, 2025, we need to see how Odela 2 fares in the days to come.
