Ashakal Aayiram trailer: Kalidas-Jayaram film lightheartedly looks at father-son relationship dynamics

The makers of the upcoming Malayalam film Ashakal Ayiram had confirmed last year that Jayaram will appear on screen alongside his son, Kalidas Jayaram, after 22 years. They have now dropped the film's trailer giving a glimpse into the plot and cast of the film, which is set to release on February 6. 

What is shown in Ashakal Aayiram trailer?

Jayaram starts the two-minute video by making fun of his son's carefree demeanour and unfulfilled dreams of becoming a successful actor. Then, glimpses of Kalidas, who plays his son is shown, and how he is at the point of becoming an actor with some wacky antics. Sharaf U. Dheen portrays a superstar who guides Kalidas as his godfather in the film industry. The father and son's tense relationship is then depicted in the trailer, with the son stating that he would never speak to his father about any problem because of their tense connection. 

Who are in the cast and crew of Ashakal Aayiram?

G Prajith, who made his feature film debut in Nivin Pauly's Oru Vadakkan Selfie, directed this movie. The screenplay for Ashakal Ayiram has been penned by Aravind Rajendran and Jude Anthany Joseph. The movie's background score and soundtracks have been composed by Sanal Dev. Ishani Krishna, Anand Manmadhan, Akhil Nrd, Ramesh Pisharody, Dileep Menon, and Zhins Shan are the other prominent actors in Ashakal Aayiram.
