Ashish Vidyarthi and Rupali Barua open up about their marriage and trolls

When actor Ashish Vidyarthi tied the knot with Rupali Barua on May 25 in Kolkata, a section of netizens started trolling and age-shaming the newlywed. Ashish is 57 and Rupali is 50. Social media became replete with dirty comments about their age and past life. Earlier, Ashish made a social media video and expressed his love for his wife. Now Rupali also commented about the the trolling.

Ashish told the news media, “There is nothing to prove in case of love. Neither of us had to prove anything to anyone. We did something that will make us happy.” Rupali said, “I don't care about those trolls since I don’t know them. They saw something which perhaps is not familiar to common people and they do not have any idea about that.” She also added, “Those comments did not affect me because I did not read them. My close ones were by my side and I do not need validation from anyone else.”

Ashish had a 22-year marriage with actres-singer Rajoshi Barua. When Rupali and Ashish’s photo came out, some people were surprised as their divorce was a private affair for them. Rajoshi then told the media about the divorce since their thoughts regarding the future became separate. She also clearly stated Ashish and she parted their ways mutually. Rajoshi and Ashish have a son, Arth.

Rupali, hailing from Assam, works in the fashion world. She has a fashion establishment in Kolkata. She also does modelling. Rupali’s first husband passed away a few years back and she has a daughter from her first marriage.
