Ashish's second film Selfish formally launched in the presence of Dhanush, Harish Shankar, Anil Ravipudi

After a series of innovative promotional videos leading up to its launch yesterday, Rowdy Boys actor Ashish's film Selfish took off with a formal pooja ceremony on a grand note in Hyderabad this morning. Selfish was officially launched at 9.36 am at Annapurna Studios. The pooja ceremony was held amidst the presence of several dignitaries from the industry including actor Dhanush, leading filmmakers Harish Shankar and Anil Ravipudi.

While Harish Shankar had switched on the camera, Anil Ravipudi directed the first shot besides unveiling the film's motion poster. Dhanush had given the first clap for the film. Selfish is written and directed by first-time filmmaker Vishal Kasi, a former associate of Pushpa director Sukumar. Dil Raju and Shirish, uncle and father to Ashish, are producing the film under Sri Venkateswara Creations in collaboration with Sukumar under Sukumar Writings.

At the launch event, Dil Raju, conveying his happiness added that he was thrilled about reuniting with Sukumar after an 18-year gap when they teamed up for Arya. He expressed his satisfaction about collaborating with the filmmaker for Selfish. The star producer hoped that Selfish would be a turning point in Ashish's career after Rowdy Boys, adding it would be a true test for the actor. He later thanked all the guests for attending the film launch.

The script work of Selfish had begun even before the release of Rowdy Boys and Dil Raju had agreed to back the film immediately after the narration. Selfish has an impressive technical team. Mickey J Meyer is on board as the composer while Chandrabose is the sole lyricist for the album. S Manikandan is roped in for the cinematography and Malaiah S is the art director. Harshith Reddy, Hanshitha Reddy and Ashok Bandreddi are the co-producers.
