Ashutosh Gowariker all set to make a film on life of the spiritual guru Adi Shankaracharya

A few days back, we had reported about the speculative news that was buzzing in the industry about the prolific film maker Ashutosh Gowariker all set to direct a film that stars the pan India star Rishab Shetty in the leading role. The said report even stated that the said film will be multilingual and will be made in many southern languages besides Hindi. And these languages were reported to be Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil. And as for the film’s premise, it was said to be a period drama with India’s rich and varied culture as the backdrop. So far, there has been no official confirmation or announcement about the said film.

However, the latest update about film maker Ashutosh Gowariker is that he is now all set to make a film on the spiritual guru Adi Shankaracharya. The film maker took to social media today and made an announcement of the same. The film has been titled ‘Shankar’. The said film will be all about the life of the eighth century Vedic scholar and guru Adi Shankaracharya.

On his part, Ashutosh Gowariker took to social media and shared the first look of the film ‘Shankar’. The film maker even captioned the post stating, I am deeply honoured to have the opportunity, to illuminate the Life and Wisdom of Adi Shankaracharya, through a cinematic rendition - SHANKAR, in collaboration with Acharya Shankar Sanskritik Ekta Nyas and @EkatmaDham @agppl @sunita.gowariker #Shankar #AdiShankaracharya”.

So far, only the film’s first look and the title of the film have been revealed. The rest of the details, which includes the names of the leading man and also the leading lady have been strictly kept under the wraps. Keeping in mind the nature of the film maker who pays total attention meticulously to every single detail, what remains to be seen is who will be the lucky one to be selected to play the titular role.
