Ashutosh Rana is all set to be seen in Vicky Kaushal's upcoming historical action-drama, Chhaava. Before the release, the actor opened up on Adipurush and shared what led to the failure of Om Raut’s film. In a recent interview, he said that the film starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan failed to live up to the basic requirements of the craft.

During a conversation with SCREEN, Ashutosh Rana was questioned about larger-than-life cinema such as Adipurush failing miserably at the box office.
The actor responded, “When one is working on a larger-than-life subject, it is important to meet with the craft’s actual necessities, including the dialogues, costume, or how you are going to say something. If we don’t take care of all these factors, then the audience doesn’t appreciate it at all. Be it a film, play, or OTT, it will only be praised when its feelings, language, costume, and body language are authentic. Audiences will not accept flaws in mythology, they are emotional about it.”
He further added that the TV show Ramayana was loved and the reason was that their actor’s looks, ambience, and everything else were kept in mind.
"People should see Ravana in me, not Ashutosh Rana. Most movies make the same mistake, the audience doesn’t want to see the actor, they want to see the character to feel the emotions and connect". He will be seen as Ravan in the theatre production, Humare Ram," he added.

Ashutosh Rana will be seen in the role of Hambirrao Mohite. He was a prominent Maratha general who held the esteemed position of the 5th Senapati of the Maratha Army during the reign of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Meanwhile, Vicky Kaushal will portray the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The Maratha leader also known as Shambhuraje, was the second Chhatrapati of the Maratha Empire, ruling from 1681 to 1689.
Rashmika Mandanna will be seen playing the role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj's wife, Maharani Yesubai. Akshaye Khanna's role as Aurangzeb aka Muhi al-Din Muhammad is one of the most-talked topics in recent times.
The cast also features Diana Penty, Vineet Kumar, Santosh Juvekar, Neil Bhoopaam, and Pradeep Rawat. Bankrolled by Maddock Films and directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava will hit theaters on February 14.
