Today, all the roads were leading to the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, for this is the place (read ‘venue’) which had been chosen for the much-awaited final match between India and Sri Lanka at the ‘Asia Cup 2023’. And for those who were not able to make it to the venue, were seen glued to their TV sets and mobiles. Within a few minutes of the match, there was just one name which had made it to every possible conversation, news report and eventually, became everyone’s topic of discussion. You guessed it right, the name is that of Mohammed Siraj!

For the (still) unversed, Mohammed Siraj was indeed the star of the final match between India and Sri Lanka. Right from the word go, it seemed that Mohammed Siraj had ‘demolition’ written all over through his ‘overs’! Within a few minutes, Mohammed Siraj landed up taking as many as 6 wickets during his magical bowling spell. Immediately after this feat, congratulatory messages for Mohammed Siraj started pouring from all over on social media.

Amongst the ocean of tweets and messages, there was one message which really stood out. The message was from none other than the prolific film maker SS Rajamouli. The film maker took to social media and posted, “Siraj Miyan, Our Tolichowki boy shines at the Asia Cup final with 6 wickets… And has a big heart, running to long-on to stop the boundary off his own bowling…”

As for the results of the final match between India and Sri Lanka, Indian won by ten wickets. While Sri Lanka were bowled out for 50 in 15.2 overs (which is 129 valid deliveries), India went onto win the game by 10 wickets and also with 263 deliveries remaining!
