Director Jis Joy’s upcoming movie will once again see Asif Ali and Biju Menon team up. The duo, who have been part of several movies such as Anuraga Karikkin Vellam and Vellimoonga, will this time join hands for a ‘mass’ thriller.
Asif took to his social media page to announce the details of the movie, which is set to go on floors on April 17 in Thalassery. The actor, who was last seen in Sethu’s Maheshum Marutiyum, confirmed that the film will be a “full-length thriller”.
The yet-to-be-titled movie will also mark the comeback of Reenu Mathews, who had previously starred in films such as Mammootty’s Immanuel, Fahadh Faasil’s Iyobinte Pustakam and Saptamasree Thaskaraha, which also has Asif in a pivotal character.
Apart from the trio, Jis Joy’s directorial also has Manoj KU, Shankar Ramakrishnan, Dileesh Pothan, Anusree and Kottayam Nazeer as part of the cast. Jis, who is mostly known for his feel-good movies, had previously also directed Asif in a thriller titled Innale Vare, which is streaming on Sony LIV and OTTplay Premium.
Meanwhile, Asif is currently shooting for another drama-thriller in Tunisia. The movie, helmed by Arfaz Ayub, also has Amala Paul and Sharafudheen as part of the cast. The movie revolves around the three characters and is set extensively in the Sahara Desert.

In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Arfaz said, “These are roles that the artistes have not played before, especially Asif. You would see a new Asif in terms of his look and his character’s emotional journey. I hope this will be a pathbreaking performance for him. It’s the same with Amala. She plays a strong character who has a lot of relevance and depth.”
Asif has also completed the shoot of A Ranjith Cinema and Kasargold, which is helmed by B Tech director Mridul Nair.
