Asif Ali's Abhyanthara Kuttavali, Sarkeet get postponed; new release dates out

Asif Ali started 2025 on a splendid note with his Rekhachithram emerging to be the first hit from Malayalam in 2025. The Thalavan actor was all set for the release of Abhyanthara Kuttavali and Sarkeet. But notably, both films have been postponed. Here are the new release dates of Asif Ali’s upcoming Malayalam films Abhyanthara Kuttavali and Sarkeet. 

Sarkeet gets new release date

Asif Ali joined hands with Thamar KV, who helmed the much-talked-about 1001 Nunakal, for Sarkeet. The Malayalam film, which will reportedly narrate an emotional tale, was slated to release in April. But the makers recently confirmed that Sarkeet will now release on May 8. 

Notably, Sarkeet also features Divya Prabha, who shot to global fame after her film All We Imagine as Light scripted history at Cannes last year. Apart from Asif Ali and Divya Prabha, Sarkeet also features Deepak Parambol and child artiste Orhan in key roles.

Much like his 1001 Nunakal, Thamar’s Sarkeet is also set in the Gulf. Audiences are curious to know more about the project as it brings together a talented filmmaker and Asif Ali, who has been part of several notable films lately, such as Rekhachithram with Anaswara Rajan.

Abhyanthara Kuttavali release date 

Abhyanthara Kuttavali is another upcoming film of Asif Ali that was slated for release on April 3. However, Sethunath Padmakumar's debut will now release on April 17. Thulasi, a newcomer, plays the female lead in the film along with other notable actors such as Jagadish, Harisree Ashokan, Prem Kumar, Sidharth Bharathan, Azees Nedumangad, Balachandran Chullikkad, and Anand Manmadhan. 

Asif Ali's films 

Asif Ali was last seen in Jofin T Chacko's Rekhachithram, which was well-liked by audiences and critics. The film, which features Asif Ali in the role of a cop following a murder mystery, is available to stream on OTTplay Premium and SonyLiv. Asif Ali’s thriller films, such as Thalavan, have been getting much appreciation from the audience. He also starred in Kishkindha Kaandam, which was among the hits of 2024.
