After his acclaimed movie Kala, director Rohit VS has already begun work on his next movie titled Tiki Taka, which will see him team up with Asif Ali again.

In an exclusive chat with OTTplay, Rohith said, “It’s a big movie compared to my previous three projects – Adventures of Omanakuttan, Iblis and Kala. Also, because it’s vast in scope, we are shooting it in small schedules. There’s a lot of set pieces. We have already filmed a few portions and are hoping to release the movie in theatres by October.”

In earlier interviews, Asif has expressed hesitance in being part of action-oriented films. On how Rohith convinced him to be part of Tiki Taka, the director says, “We have known each other for a long and we have discussed about doing a movie with an action mood. This film is not a proper action film per se, it has fun elements too. Asif’s character too, like the title Tiki Taka, has that pace and energy.” Asif’s portions are yet to be shot and the actor will join the sets after a makeover, adds Rohith.

With the poster of the movie showing an outline of an angel, ask him if the movie also has elements of fantasy and he says, “I wouldn’t say there’s no fantasy in the movie because there is a tinge of it, but it is organically weaved into the basic story.”

Apart from Asif, the movie also has Wamiqa Gabbi, Naslen, Lukman Avaran and Sanchana Natarajan as part of the cast. But there will also be more surprises, Rohit promises. “There are also other actors that we haven’t revealed yet. It’s a movie that progresses through multi-character conflicts and every actor is also the lead, in a way or the other,” concludes the director.
