South Indian actress Revathy is playing an important part in Anubhav Sinha's upcoming Bollywood film, Assi. Meanwhile, in an interview with Red FM promoting this courtroom drama, the actress spoke about her Malayalam films such as Bhoothakaalam, Kilukkam and more.
Why Revathy has not watched Bhoothakaalam?
Revathy disclosed in this interview that she hasn't yet seen her most recent Malayalam movie, Bhoothakaalam. Despite receiving a lot of praise for her portrayal of Asha in the film, she clarified that she refused to watch it because she dislikes horror films. "I initially informed Rahul Sadasivan, the film's director, that I would not be seeing it. He asked me to watch, but I was unable to. The actress added that because she cannot read or write Malayalam, she does not want to direct films in that language. "I can perform in Malayalam films as an actor, but directing is different because you have to make up a world and its characters. You have to think in that specific language to do so which I am not so confident about," she continued. Revathy is also a part of Mammootty-Mohanlal's upcoming highly anticipated film, Patriot, which will release on April 23.

ZEE5 has acquired the digital streaming rights of the courtroom thriller in advance of its theatrical release on February 20. The movie, which will also be available for streaming on OTTplay Premium, is expected to debut on the platform for OTT streaming approximately eight weeks following its theatrical run. The protagonist of Assi is Parima, a teacher (played by Kani Kusruti), who is left on a railway track after surviving a gang sexual assault. The plot follows how Taapsee Pannu's character, Raavi, battles for justice. In this film, Revathy portrays a judge.
