Asuran director Vetrimaaran and Jr NTR to collaborate?

If the industry grapevine is anything to go by, Vetrimaaran, who's busy with Viduthalai, starring Vijay Sethupathi and Soori, will team up with the Telugu star Jr NTR. There have been talks about the two working together for a long time, and multiple reports suggest that Jr NTR has finally given his nod. However, we await an official confirmation.

It is said that Vetrimaaran, who is known for his raw and hard-hitting films, has been highly impressed by Jr NTR's portrayal of the earthy character Bheem in the recently-released RRR.

Meanwhile, Jr NTR has signed a film each with directors Kortala Siva and Prashanth Neel. The Kortala Siva film, tentatively titled NTR 30, will be the actor's next to-go on floors. This untitled film marks the actor's second collaboration with Koratala Siva after their 2016 action-drama Janatha Garage. Touted as a pan-Indian release, NTR 30 will release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi.

Presented by Nandamuri Kalyanram, the film is produced by Mikkilineni Sudhakar of Yuvasudha Arts and Kosaraju Harikrishna of NTR Arts.

Jr NTR was last seen in SS Rajamouli's mega-blockbuster RRR. Also starring Ram Charan, the film streams on Netflix (Hindi) and ZEE5 (Telugu and other languages).

On the other hand, Vetrimaaran has Suriya's Vaadivasal in the pipeline. The film is based on the Tamil novel of the same name written by CS Chellappa. Vetrimaaran had notably acquired the rights for adapting the novel as early as 2017.

Vaadivaasal has music by GV Prakash Kumar, a frequent collaborator of Vetrimaaran.

As for Viduthalai, it has entered its final leg of shooting. The film also stars Bhavani Sree, Gautham Vasudev Menon, Prakash Raj, and Chetan, among others.

Viduthalai, which is produced by Elred Kumar through RS Infotainment Private Limited, has cinematography by Vetrimaaran's frequent collaborator Velraj and music by Ilaiyaraaja.
