Actor Vasanth Ravi's latest outing Asvins just dropped on Netflix and the film has opened to positive reviews. Ahead of the film's OTT premiere, the actor penned a heartfelt note and shared the same on his social media handle. He said that the team had spent sleepless nights ahead of the film's release last month.

Vasanth Ravi's note read, " When Asvins hit theatres, our team was no exception to the sleepless nights endured by numerous film crews, eagerly awaiting the genuine verdict during the season of heavy releases. It is particularly challenging for a low-budget film with unfamiliar faces in the cast and crew to sustain its theatrical run for more than a week."

He added, "To our delight, Asvins has not only drawn larger crowds during its second and third week run but has now completed an impressive 25-day stint, with film enthusiasts still singing its praises. The success of content-driven films in winning audience's hearts is undeniable, and I am elated that Asvins has joined their ranks and has been declared as the horror blockbuster for this year in Tamil cinema."

Vasanth Ravi stated that the film's success has fuelled his desire to stretch his limits. "This triumph  fuels my desire and responsibility to stretch my limits and explore my potential by embracing challenging scripts and roles in the coming years!"

Asvins is a psychological thriller directed by debutant Tarun Teja and marks Vimala Raman's comeback in Tamil. The supporting cast includes Muralidharan, Saraswathi Menon, Udhaya Deep and Simran Pareek to name a few.

Asvins is a feature film adaptation of Tarun Teja's own short film of the same name. Vasanth Ravi had stated during the promotions that Asvins is an important film in his career after Taramani and Rocky. "A horror film was never part of the plan. But when Tarun Teja narrated the script to me, I was impressed and decided to give it a go-ahead."
