The terrific trio of Basil Joseph, Tovino Thomas, and Vineeth Sreenivasan have joined hands for an upcoming Malayalam film. The makers just revealed the title is Athiradi with an interesting teaser! Notably, the film marks Basil Joseph's first production venture. Let's check out

Athiradi title teaser out

Actor-filmmaker Basil Joseph recently announced that he would be venturing into production too. Not just that, his production venture would see him once again collaborating with actor Tovino Thomas and actor-director Vineeth Sreenivasan. The makers revealed the title teaser on October 18, 2025 and it looks very interesting.

The teaser begins with Vineeth Sreenivasan facing a woman's questioning, "Who has done this?". The teaser then cuts to show Basil Joseph in a party setting, but his face is not revealed. "If not him, then is it the other person?" she asks him, as Tovino Thomas is introduced at a Theyyam performance. Vineeth brushes off claims of them being together, saying that they are two reckless hotheads who cannot see eye to eye.

When she asks him what the reason was for the recent fight, Vineeth laughs out loud. As Basil says that there would be no more talk, Tovino assures him that he would finish it (the fight). When the woman asks whether we have seen enough fights, Vineeth replies that this is not an ordinary fight and the title of Athiradi is revealed. Tovino and Basil gear up for a face-off, as Vineeth says 'Arambikallaamm' (Let's begin). The title teaser ends with the update that the shoot will begin soon.

Minnal Murali co-writer Arun Anirudhan helms this film, which is co-produced by Basil Joseph. For those of you who don't know, Minnal Murali is a superhero film directed by Basil Joseph and starred Tovino Thomas in the titular role. Arun Anirudhan has also penned the Athiradi along with Paulson Skaria, who is known for co-writing Mammootty's path-breaking Kaathal The Core. The film Athiradi has music by Vishnu Vijay, while Chaman Chakko is the editor and Samuel Henry is the DOP. 

Apart from the lead actors Basil Joseph, Tovino Thomas and Vineeth Sreenivasan, the rest of the cast is not known. Earlier reports had claimed that it would be a campus-based film, but the teaser showed the trio as older than the ordinary college kids.

The teaser looks intriguing and promises that a pakka entertainer is on the cards. Fans have received the title teaser with much excitement with comments of 'sure shot hit', 'waiting', 'promising' and 'brilliant'. Netizens are also happy to see the face-off between Tovino-Basil as actors, as they are best known for their actor-director collaborations such as Godha and Minnal Murali. 

Tvoino was last seen in a cameo appearance in Lokah Chapter 1, Chandra. Interestingly, Basil was also offered a role in the Kalyani Priyadarshan-starrer film, which he declined.
