After The Mother, Jennifer Lopez is back on Netflix with another action thriller. The only difference is the locale. Instead of the Alaskan wilderness, she will be navigating distant planets as a member of a futuristic Earth. Directed by Brad Peyton of Rampage and San Andreas fame, the galactic thriller is based on a screenplay by Leo Sardarian and Aron Eli Coleite. Atlas will be released on OTT this summer.
The film shared a teaser yesterday, offering a fleeting first look at Jennifer Lopez’s tough and brilliant data analyst with a deep mistrust for AI, who is stuck in a falling mechatronic robotic suit on a distant planet. Atlas, which has captivated viewers with its first teaser, will be streaming on Netflix on May 24, 2024. From plot to cast, the film has been meticulous about it all.

The sci-fi galactic adventure follows the journey of Atlas Shepherd, an exceptional data analyst with misanthropic ideas and a deep distrust of Artificial Intelligence. But when she has to go on a mission to capture a renegade robot with whom she shares a mysterious past, she faces challenges unlike ever before.
When her plans go awry, she must force herself to trust the suit, the only thing that can save her from the dangers she has landed among, ranging from a bad head injury to a crash landing on an alien planet with zero communication with her base. The teaser also indicates Simu Liu plays a negative role, and perhaps the man controlling the robot she has to capture.
Atlas features a starry cast comprising the likes of Jennifer Lopez (The Mother, Marry Me), Simu Liu (Barbie, Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) Sterling K. Brown (American Fiction), Gregory J. Cohan (Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty), Abraham Popoola (Andor), Lana Parrilla (The Lincoln Lawyer), and Mark Strong (Murder Mystery 2).
