Get ready to embark on a rollercoaster ride of emotions and laughter with the 'atrangis' Sara Ali Khan, Akshay Kumar and Dhanush in the upcoming drama Atrangi Re. The makers have recently dropped the trailer of the rom-com and it looks like a crazy love triangle. But unlike most films where two men fall for the same girl, this drama has a woman falling for two men and looks all confused when she is forced to choose one.

The trailer opens with Sara's family kidnapping a man and getting him to the mandap to get her married. They look shocked as they realise that the man is a south Indian while Sara protests against the forced marriage by throwing bottles at her father's goons. But all in vain, she ends up marrying him and feels happy that even the man (Dhanush) she married didn't want to tie the knot with her.

The trailer also shares glimpses of their journey henceforth and how they get used to each other, so much so that they eventually cannot imagine a life without each other. But all turn chaotic when Sara's boyfriend (Akshay) whom she has tried eloping for 21 times, comes back. Akshay makes a dramatic entry, standing on an elephant. He seems to be playing the role of a magician and is often seen making references to the Hindu mythology Ramayan as Sara is fascinated by how women were married off after a 'swayamvar' in the ancient era.

The official description of the film reads: "Ek undekhi love story aur teen atrangi log. 馃徆蟀潊蟀ü This Christmas get ready for a magical experience!" Check out the trailer here:

The film is written by Himanshu Sharma. He's also co-produced the film with Aanand L Rai, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar. Aanand L Rai had earlier told ToI that the weird characters of the three actors add layers to the emotions in the story. "I think the film is like a game, an emotional one, which I am playing with the audience. After watching the trailer, I want them to have their own interpretation," he told the daily, ahead of the trailer release.

The drama has music and background by the maestro AR Rahman. It is scheduled to release on Disney+Hotstar on December 24.
