John Abraham’s latest film, Attack has opened to poor Box Office collections. The movie has collected only Rs. 3.25 crores nett on its opening day. The film had dull collections all across India.
Attack’s opening day Box Office does not come as a surprise since such movies do not drive the mass audiences but the urban viewers. However, the movie has been receiving a good word-of-mouth and so, the collections are expected to go up in the coming days.
Timing plays a very important role for John’s movie. It has released at a time when RRR became a huge success and the film was already facing some competition from Vivek Agnihotri’s The Kashmir Files (which has a good fourth Friday BO too).
Attack will face crucial challenges ahead since the weekend Box Office collections will determine where the movie is headed. Such action films have struggled in the past and so, Attack might need a fabulous response in order to be declared a hit. However, giving the time when this movie has released, that appears to be a little tougher.
John’s film has eliminated one competition in the Hollywood film Morbius, which also released on April 1. While Morbius’s Box Office collections in the morning shows looked promising, it then went downhill from there.
Reportedly made on a budget of Rs. 70 crores, Attack will have to see a significant rise over the weekend since weekdays did not guarantee Box Office collections for even a film like RRR. If lucky like The Kashmir Files, though, Attack might just pick up after its first Wednesday. However, that appears unlikely given the current circumstances.
Directed by Lakshya Raj Anand, Attack features Jacqueline Fernandez, Rakul Preet Singh, Prakash Raj and Ratna Pathak Shah in pivotal roles. The movie is penned and produced by lead actor John.
