After delaying the release of Attack for some time, John Abraham is now ready to release his film in theatres. The movie will release in cinemas on Friday, April 1, 2022. Ahead of its release, John spoke about the film being compared to Hollywood superhero movies and assured that Attack: Part 1 is not a cheap imitation Hollywood film.

After the trailer of Attack released, the viewers questioned whether Johnny, who is a super soldier, is actually a RoboCop, Cyborg or Captain America. Cyborg and Captain America are two superheroes that are loved across the globe because they were sketched early on and have various films and web shows dedicated to them.

Agreeing that India needs a superhero who can be at par with the Hollywood ones, John, in his recent interview with RJ Rocky, said that Attack aims to change the scenario with a home-grown superhero who is ‘cool’. John also pointed out that the film is a new concept in many ways.

“I want the audience and media to support such a film. In fact when you watch this film, you will realize that it is really cool and there should be more films like Attack. That is what we’re trying to achieve here,” John said.

Stating how Attack is different, the actor added, “Attack is not a cheap imitation Hollywood film. We have made a film that is an original Indian film. The trope of super soldiers has been adapted by many films but this is the first time he has a chip inserted in his brain and is playing a positive role.”

The actor-producer revealed that the story of Attack is inspired from real life attacks. “There were parliament attacks in real-life. We’ve drawn a lot of inspiration from that. Then, we added some hyper-reality to that to create our film, Attack: Part 1,” he shared.

Attack: Part 1 is helmed by Lakshya Raj Anand. The movie also stars Jacqueline Fernandez and Rakul Preet Singh in the lead roles.

According to various reports, Attack might have signed a deal to release the film on Netflix in May 2022. However, the makers have not issued a confirmation on the same. Thus, currently, there is no certainty on where can one watch Attack after its theatrical run.
