Emily Olivia Blunt is a British actress and the recipient of several accolades including a Critics Choice Award, Golden Globe, and BAFTA, she celebrates her birthday today. 

Having started her career in 2001, with the stage production The Royal Family, Blunt gradually went on to work in television and feature films. She made her feature film debut with the 2004 drama My Summer of Love. 

However, Blunt’s breakthrough came with The Devil Wears Prada, for which she won a Golden Globe and BAFTA. After working in feature films, she began lending her voice to several films such as My Little Pony: The Movie and Animal Crackers. 

She also played the lead, alongside Tom Cruise, in Doug Liman’s underappreciated sci-fi action film, Edge of Tomorrow. She has also starred in the critically acclaimed sci-fi thriller A Quiet Place, with her husband John Krasinski, who also wrote and directed the film.  

In 2020, Forbes ranked her as the sixth highest-paid actress in the world, with annual earnings of $22.5 million. Last year, she was cast to play a role in Christopher Nolan’s biographical film Oppenheimer, based on the life of Robert J Oppenheimer.
