Director Harikumar’s Autorickshawkkarante Bharya is a special movie for both its lead actors – Ann Augustine and Suraj Venjaramoodu. The film, which is scripted by renowned writer M Mukundan, helped Suraj accomplish a long-time goal.

In a recent promo interview for the film, which is slated to hit theatres on October 28, Ann revealed that Suraj didn’t take any remuneration for the movie. Suraj also divulged the reason for this.

“For me, M Mukundan sir is the highlight in this film along with working with Harikumar sir,” he told Manorama Online. “A lot of us in our younger years began reading his books such as Mayyazhippuzhayude Theerangalil as well as OV Vijayan sir’s Khazakinte Itihasam. So, when you read it, you would be amazed by their imagination and observations. So, it’s a huge blessing and joy to be part of his first script.”

The movie, which has Suraj and Ann playing a couple, had completed its shoot earlier this year. Ann will also be making her comeback with the film, which also has Swasika Vijay in a pivotal role.

“M Mukundan was a key reason I decided to do it,” said Ann. “It’s his first screenplay. Harikumar and Suraj were also factors. The team as well as the fact that the role had equal importance for the female protagonist were also reasons for me to choose the movie.”

Autorickshawkkarante Bharya is a family entertainer that revolves around an indolent and lazy autorickshaw driver, essayed by Suraj. How his wife, Radhika, takes charge of the situation as well as their family by becoming an autorickshaw driver herself forms the plot of the film, which is set in Mahe. The film will clash with Aishwarya Lekshmi’s mythological horror film Kumari as well as Basi Joseph and Darshana Rajendran’s entertainer Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hei on October 28.
