Avengers: Endgame fame Joe Russo reacts to backlash for his alleged dig at Martin Scorsese, saying he had been ‘internet-ed’

There is no day that goes by without someone in the business offering their opinion about the superhero culture these days. One of the most prominent names who has always been against the culture and not very fond of the movies made under it is the legendary Hollywood director Martin Scorsese. His comments about the people making these films did make people turn heads recently, and Joe Russo of the Russo Brothers had a sarcastic reaction to it. 

While Joe’s TikTok video became the talk of the town and the internet was divided as some laughed and some lashed out at the Avengers: Endgame filmmaker, claiming that he is insulting the Killers Of The Flower Moon filmmaker and that this is not a video in good taste. Turns out Russo has now decided to react to all that heat he received and has quite a neutral reaction. 

If you are unaware, in the aforementioned TikTok video, one can see Joe Russo introducing his dog as Box Office. While one cannot really see anything offensive in it directly, you have to know that recently, Martin Scorsese revealed his pooch as Oscar . This created a stir on the Internet, and Joe was a hot topic of debate.

Now, as per Comic Book Movie, Avengers: Endgame co-director Joe Russo, while talking about the same, has reacted to the heat he received for the alleged Martin Scorsese dig. The filmmaker has never really shied away from talking against Scorsese’s comments about the superhero movies. Talking to Kevin Smith, Joe said, "[Martin Scorsese is] one of the reasons, one of the biggest reasons that we're sitting up here. It's the influence of his movies," he says. His video is talking to his dog, he's coaching it through, you know, like he's training his dog like it's going to do a part for him. His dog's name is Oscar."

"My daughter was like, 'That's funny, what if our dog's name was Box Office?' And I went, 'Oh, that's funny. That's cute.' And then we posted it on TikTok. We do a bunch of TikTok videos together, it's like how I stay connected to my daughter," Russo adds.

Adding how they have these funny ideas and ended up posting this one and how people discovered it a week after he put it up, Joe Russo said, "I think people conflated the timing of when they discovered it with his movie, which was not the intention. This was just like a broad appeal joke." Russo went on to call the situation a "sh*t storm" and joked that he'd been "internet-ed."
