The Marvel Cinematic Universe is in no mood to put the brakes as they march on towards a glorious Phase 6 of the Multiverse Saga. Kicking off the multiverse game with the Scarlett Johansson-led Black Window in 2021, the ongoing Phase 4 will be concluded later this year with Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and pave the way for Phases 5 and 6 to do their magic.

Phase 6 of this magnum operation is sure to be the perfect “Goin’ in Style” move for the MCU as two new Avengers films get greenlit in the form of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars. Although the two projects are slated to release only in 2025, Marvel Studios has got everything in proper sight, and in this vein, announced the director of The Kang Dynasty.

As revealed by The Hollywood Reporter, Destin Daniel Cretton of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings fame has been roped in to direct the 2025 release Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

The same report states that Cretton entered the Marvel family on the back of a thumping success with Shang-Chi: the film managed to gross close to $450 million worldwide. Destin Daniel Cretton is also developing a Wonder Man live-action series that he will serve as an exec-producer on and is likely to also direct a few episodes. He has the Shang-Chi sequel too in the works.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty will see a new and mighty Marvel baddie come to the fore in the form of Kang, The Conqueror. The character of Kang was first introduced in the Disney+ series Loki as He Who Remains with Jonathan Majors (The Last Black Man in San Francisco, The Harder They Fall) playing the role. A different version of Kang, reportedly, will be introduced in the 2023 film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania but the character will take a whole new shape for the 2025 Avengers film.

Marvel Studios’ head Kevin Feige revealed Kang will be a stark different villain as compared to Thanos.
