Avihitham release date: Here’s when to watch noted director Senna Hegde film in theatres

Noted filmmaker Senna Hegde is gearing up for the release of his next directorial, Avihitham. The makers have confirmed that Avihitham will release in theatres on October 10, 2025. Here’s everything we know about the upcoming film, which largely features a fresh cast.

When to watch Avihitham

Avihitham is a 2025 Malayalam film, helmed by Senna Hegde, best known for Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam, which won a National Award. Avihitham: 'Not just a man’s right', will be out in cinemas on October 10. Avihitham has got a U/A certificate from the Censor Board.

Currently, young actor Mathew Thomas’ Night Riders is also slated to hit the big screens on the same day. There is also Private, featuring Indrans and Meenakshi Anoop in lead roles, set for October 10 release.

Several other movies like Sharafudheen and Anupama Parameswaran’s Pet Detective and actor-filmmaker Althaf Salim’s film titled Innocent with Anarkali Marikar are also scheduled for October release, but an exact date is yet to be announced.

What does Avihitham trailer show

The makers had recently released the Avihitham trailer, which takes us to a village in Kasaragod. Avihitam means extra-marital affair in Malayalam. The villagers (mostly men) are shown to be over-inquisitive about a certain extra-marital affair happening in the village. They join hands to find out who, when and expose the ‘culprits’. All this is presented humorously as the trailer introduces us to the regular folks from villages in their rustic setting. The men keep a close eye on the happenings, even during the night, from strategic positions. 

The trailer also hints at illicit affairs when an elderly woman tells the man of the house that nobody in their family has curly hair like his daughter. In another instance a woman tells her husband that he can go to the Gulf for work and return after 3-4 years and that she would wait for him. With the tagline 'Not just a man’s right', Senna is clearly set to explore another side of the hush-hush affairs.

The Thinkalazhcha Nishchayam director has also penned the screenplay along with Ambareesh Kalathera. Actors Unniraj, Renji Kankol, Vineeth Chakyar, Dhanesh Koliyat, and Rakesh Usha are part of the cast.
