Awarapan 2 has been officially announced with a new clip. This announcement comes on lead actor Emraan Hashmi's birthday. The makers have shared a new glimpse in which they prepare us for more heartbreaking moments.

In Awarapan, Shivam Pandit (Emraan Hashmi) played an atheist-gangster caught in the midst of romance and betrayal. This reminded him of his own past lover Aaliyah, who was a devoted Muslim caught up in a wrong situation. When willing to sacrifice everything and facing death, Aaliyah took Shivam's punishment and all he was left with was hanging on to life, till years later, a similar situation forced him to look death in the eye and face it. Shivam died to save two lovers, who he believed would have had the same fate he did years back if he did not interfere. Thus, he successfully saved them and reunited with his lover in heaven. Yes, despite being an atheist for a long time. Awarapan sequel promises the same fate for his character. "Kisi aur ki zindagi ke liye marna hi meri manzil hai," the actor says as he wakes up again. The big mystery now is, has Shivam returned to life or is he reborn with the same fate? Awarapan 2 will explore the same.

Awarapan also explored the aspect of human trafficking and how it was important to break the chain, especially with internal connections. Awarapan 2 will once again see the lead try to free people from the chain while remembering, "Usne kaha tha ek mazloom ko azaad karne ka matlab hai saari insaaniyat ko azaad karna (even one life saved is saving humanity)." This happens through a beautiful scene - where one bird is set free from the cage and others follow suit.

Awarapan 2 to explore a new version of Tera Mera Rishta?

Even if it was not a hit when it released, Awarapan is a story close to many people's hearts years after. The songs, on the other hand, became an instant rage. Tera Mera Rishta, which could be considered the title track of the movie, in particular, tug at people's heartstrings. With the song being included in the announcement video, the makers could be hinting at it being a part of the sequel.
