Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor starrer Brahmastra is the year's most anticipated film. The makers have been creating a lot of buzz among the fans with the trailer, teaser and all the other promo videos and posters. Meanwhile, now director Ayan Mukerji dropped a new montage unveiling the inspiration for his latest film.

The latest video begins with Ranbir and Alia's dialogue from the film. The actress mentions that light is what protects us when faced with any darkness. It is a special power. Which brings meaning to our lives. After that, the diva asks, "And where do you find this light?"

The filmmaker starts explaining how he got inspired by the idea of Brahmastra. He says, "The threads with which Brahmastra is woven, ran very deep in me." He further continues, "As a child, I grew up loving stories from Indian history. My father used to tell me a lot about our powerful Gods and Goddesses. And I was deeply affected by them. Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu, Lord Ganesha and Lord Hanuman, Goddess Durga and Goddess Kali."

"I believe that a certain spiritual depth from Indian philosophy. Very naturally touches the life of anyone brought up in Indian culture," he adds.

Ayan further mentions that by the time he was a teenager his favourite pastime was reading, while Harry Potter was one of his favourites to read about.

Talking about Brahmastra he shares how proud he is that his film is original. "The colour of all the inspirations mixed together to create a very new and original colour. I realised then and even today, as we have finished the movie, these same facts make me very proud that Brahmastra is an original film," he adds.
