The hashtag #BoycottBrahmastra had started to trend after fans became irked by a particular scene in the film’s trailer.

After a long wait Ayan Mukerji had recently unveiled the trailer of his upcoming magnum opus, Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva. Fans were definitely left in awe by the visually stunning trailer, but there were also a few who were quite displeased with the makers for a particular scene in the clip. The scene showed Ranbir Kapoor’s Shiva enter what netizens thought was a temple with his shoes on. The hashtag #BoycottBrahmastra had even started to trend after fans were offended by the scene in question. The director recently took to social media to offer a clarification with regard to the same.
Taking to his official Instagram handle, Mukerji shared the news that the film’s trailer has been released in 4K quality, after netizens had expressed their wish to watch it in that resolution. In the same post, the director also addressed the issue regarding the temple scene in the trailer. Mukerji revealed that Kapoor was not entering a temple in that scene, but a Durga Puja Pandal. The filmmaker went on to talk about how his own family had been organising similar celebrations on Durga Puja as well. Mukerji concluded by saying that Brahmastra was a film that intended to celebrate and pay respect to Indian culture and traditions.

The upcoming film also stars Alia Bhatt, Mouni Roy, Nagarjuna and Amitabh Bachchan in prominent roles. Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Namit Malhotra, and Mukerji have produced the movie. The film will be released on September 9 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
