Ayan Mukerji shares first thoughts on War 2, calls Hrithik Roshan-Jr NTR duo 'once-in-a-lifetime'

Ayan Mukerji has now broken his silence on War 2. Just days after the teaser for the film was revealed, the filmmaker, who is known for films like Wake up Sid, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, and Brahmāstra, posted his thoughts about it on Instagram. In addition to some exclusive behind-the-scenes photographs of Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR, and Kiara Advani, Mukerji said that the action isn't the only thing that gets him excited about the project.

Countdown to War 2 release begins

"With the release of our movie’s teaser a few days ago and 12 weeks to go before our big beautiful movie hits theatres, it feels like the right time for me to share some thoughts," Mukerji started, addressing the increasing hype about the film.

A high-octane action flick set in the YRF Spy Universe, War 2 features an exceptional story, according to Mukerji. "That the core of this movie is a very powerful and dramatic story – which really surprised me the first time I heard its script and has been extremely exciting (and challenging) for me to bring to life!" he penned.

Ayan Mukerji's first words on the project

This is Mukerji's first formal comment regarding directing War 2, and he used the opportunity to thank the production crew. "I just want to put out some love for the amazing team I have had the privilege of collaborating with on this movie, he noted.

Kiara Advani was hailed by Mukerji as "a ray of sunshine in the movie and a dear friend in my life today" when he gave a shoutout to her. He went on to say that Aditya Chopra, Hrithik Roshan (Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai and Koi... Mil Gaya), and Jr NTR (Samba and Narasimhudu) were the three main people responsible for making this film possible.

He expressed his gratitude to Aditya Chopra, whose guidance he had received over the last two years and who had given him the chance to work alongside the legendary Hrithik Roshan and NTR.

"I cannot wait for our audiences to experience the magical work that these two giants have created in War 2… not just with their mega movie-star energy but with the drama and depth that they have brought to their characters," Mukerji said, referring to his leading performers.

In his final remarks, Mukerji expressed his excitement for the impending release. "So much more to share in the days to come, but for now, just putting out a whole lot of gratitude for our teaser drop… and sharing a whole lot of excited energy for our audiences to discover so much War 2 magic in the days ahead!"
