Ayesha Jhulka has THIS to say about her 90s co-stars being paired with younger actresses

Ayesha Jhulka is currently riding the high of the stellar reviews she is receiving for her compelling performance in Hush Hush. The actress made her silver screen debut in the 1990s, with her filmography spanning projects across languages. Ayesha recently opened up about the phenomena of seeing her 90s costars being paired with much younger actresses on the silver screen.

In conversation with Siddharth Kannan, Ayesha was all praise for her former costars. Saying that all of them still looked like they were in their 20s, Ayesha said that their status in the industry was proof that audiences still loved them and that their films were working.

She said that not only are they still delivering hits, but they also seemed to have evolved as actors over the course of their careers. “I am a witness to so many of them working so hard, and they should get the fruit of that labour”, she said.

However, Ayesha is very well aware that her female co-stars have a different story to tell. She spoke of how the ‘shelf life’ for female actors in those times was much less. She said that she did not have all the answers as to the reasons why it was so, since she was not the one who made the rules that governed the industry. The actress added that she did feel bad that things were this way, but reiterated that she had no problems with her male stars romancing actresses in their 20s.

Ayesha recently made her OTT debut with Hush Hush. The Amazon Prime Video web series also featured Juhi Chawla, Soha Ali Khan, Kritika Kamra, Shahana Goswami, and Karishma Tanna as well. The review of the series on OTTplay reads “Hush Hush is interesting in spots but falls short as a tight-knit thriller overall, despite having an engaging plot and a superb Ayesha Jhulka”.
