It looks like Sasikumar's critically acclaimed film, Ayothi, is set to be remade in both Telugu and Hindi. Speculations are rife about the remakes, however, there is no official announcement about the same. The film recently had its digital premiere on ZEE 5 and since then, many more viewers seem to have watched the film, and are in awe of the story and the performances.

Ayothi, directed by Manthira Moorthy, stars Sasikumar, Yashpal Sharma, Preethi Asrani, Anju Asrani, Master Advaith Vinod, Pugazh, Vinoth, Bose Venkat, Chetan, to name a few. The plot revolves around a family from Ayodhya, who are on a tour to Rameshwaram, but an untoward incident turns their whole life topsy turvy. How the localites extend a helping hand and aid the family in getting back to their hometown forms the story.

The plot is said to be inspired by a real-life incident that took place in 2012. Ayothi also touches upon many important issues such as the man-made inequalities and how death is a great equalizer. Music for the film is by NR Raghunanthan. While the cinematography is by Madhesh Manickam, editing is by San Lokesh.

It was only recently that Superstar Rajinikanth himself was all praise for Ayothi. He took to his social media handle to praise the team, which made such a relevant socially responsible film. He also congratulated debutant director Moorthy and said that the latter proved his mettle with the film. He also showered praises on the entire team. The film's lead actor Sasikumar, immediately thanked the Superstar and stated that his appreciation was a huge shot in the arm for the Ayothi team.

Ayothi has been receiving a lot of praise, ever since its release. The film had originally hit screens on March 3 and opened to positive reviews. Ayothi is bankrolled by Trident Arts.
