Ayushi Gupta on Hostel Daze Season 3: Nabomita is a unique, yet universal character

Actress Ayushi Gupta, who plays a pivotal part in the much-loved student-comedy web series Hostel Daze, opens up on her journey from being a casting associate to playing a prominent character in a show, and more.

Starting her career as a casting associate in Netflix's original series Sacred Games, it was not an easy journey for Ayushi to bag the role of Nabomita in Hostel Daze. She has appeared in the show for three consecutive years.

While the show is close to her heart for the obvious reason, talking about the character, Ayushi said, "Nabomita is a unique, yet universal character. At the end of the day, all she seeks is love and acceptance, while still being her own person. She'll always remain one of my favourite characters."

The young actress enjoyed shooting for the show because of the cast and crew, who were not only very supportive of each other, but also talented people from whom she learnt a lot.

Apart from Hostel Daze, Ayushi is also a theatre artiste and made her international theatre debut in 2021. She starred in a one-act play, The First, written by Hassan Abdulrazzak, which will premiere in the Middle East.

She has also acted in popular web shows like Cubicles S2, The Lineup and the critically-acclaimed short film, The Song We Sang.

Hostel Daze Season 3, created by Saurabh Khanna and Abhishek Yadav, is produced by Arunabh Kumar under The Viral Fever banner. The show also stars Adarsh Gourav, Luv, Shubham Gaur, Nikhil Vijay and Ahsaas Channa. The first season released in 2019. 

The story of the show revolves around three friends — Jhantoo, Chirag and Jaat — and more friends who joins them in their first year of college. With each season, their friendship goes through ups and downs, and how the journey continues sets the tone of the series.
