Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh announce Doctor G release date, pose in lab coats in new still

Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh have teamed up for the first time in Doctor G in which both the actors play medical professionals. Along with them features Shefali Shah, who plays a pivotal role in the film. After teasing with the first look and BTS stills, the makers have announced the release date of Doctor G and is hitting the big screens on June 17, 2022. 

The film has Ayushmann playing the role of a gynaecologist for the first time onscreen and marks the directorial debut of Anubhuti Kashyap. She has co-written the film with Sumit Saxena, Vishal Wagh and Saurabh Bharat. While Junglee Pictures has produced the film.

Ayushmann and Rakul shared their first look still from Doctor G on their social media pages. The National Award-winning actor wrote, "Get ready to book your appointment in cinemas on 17th June 2022 as @rakulpreet @shefalishahofficial and I come together for #DoctorG."

In a statement, Anubhuti shared her excitement by saying that the team is gearing up to get the movie ready for theatres now that the shooting has completed. She is ecstatic to have had the chance to work with Ayushmann, Rakul, Shefali, Junglee Pictures and the entire Doctor G team. 

Anubhuti said that they have always stood by her and it shows on screen. She concluded by saying, "It has been an enriching experience. I am excited to bring the movie to audiences."

Whereas Junglee Pictures' Amrita Pandey praised the writers of Doctor G by stating that Sumit, Saurabh and Vishal, as well as Anubhuti, have written a fantastic script for Doctor G. She added that Anubhuti has taken it to the next level with her direction. 

Anubhuti is the sister of filmmakers Abhinav Kashyap and Anurag Kashyap. She earlier worked as an assistant director in several films.
