Guneet Monga's Sikhya Entertainment and Karan Johar's Dharma Productions have announced one of their forthcoming projects. The film, touted as an action comedy, will feature both Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan in the leading roles. Interestingly, the untitled film will mark their first outing on the screen. Aakash Kaushik writes and directs it, making his directorial debut following the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, which he penned. The release date is still unclear.
Ayushmann Khurrana's successful comedy career
Vicky Donor, Bala, AndhaDhun, Dream Girl, Shubh Mangal Savadhan, and Dum Laga Ke Haisha are just a few of the content-driven offbeat comedies that have helped Ayushmann build his career. The actor is currently preparing for his debut production under the KJo-led Dharma Production banner. After Dream Girl 2, Ayushmann's next project will be this action comedy.
According to Pinkvilla, Karan and Guneet are eagerly anticipating the opportunity to work on this original spy comedy, as the script seamlessly blends elements of comedy and espionage. According to an insider, the script has all the makings of a commercial film: large-scale action with plenty of hilarious moments, and the makers think that Ayushmann is the perfect choice to play the lead role.
Breaking norms of espionage flicks
According to the entertainment portal, the film defies the norms of espionage flicks in Hindi cinema and will star the actor in his most iconic role. After the official announcement, the film will go on floors in a couple of months. Sara has now secured the role of the female lead, marking a significant casting achievement.
Speaking of the director, Aakash Kaushik has already worked on numerous comedy films as a writer. Preparation is already underway, and makers are aiming to hit floors by June 2024.

Ayushmann only had one release last year, Dream Girl 2, after which the actor has yet to have a release. On the other hand, Sara had two OTT releases this year, including Murder Mubarak on Netflix and Ae Watan Mere Watan on Prime Video.
