Today, India celebrates its 75th Republic Day. This special day marks the moment India officially adopted its own set of rules, the Constitution, back in 1950. Earlier today, actor Ayushmann Khurrana was spotted at the Republic Day parade in New Delhi. Apparently, he was the only Bollywood actor who attended the live parade. While sharing a video and some pictures with the armed forces, the Dream Girl actor penned a heartwarming note on Instagram. It evoked strong emotions in everyone who read it.

He wrote, “Honoured to witness the Republic Day on the occasion of India’s 75th Republic Day. Took me back to my childhood days when I used to religiously watch this on Doordarshan every year with my entire family! Feeling incredibly nostalgic.”

While the entire nation rejoiced in grand traditions, some celebrities from Bollywood opted for unconventional ways to commemorate the day. Beyond the social media messages of Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Kartik Aaryan, Hrithik Roshan, Deepika Padukone, and Karan Johar, some unique celebrations took centre stage, adding a nostalgic touch to the national festivity.

Who was the chief guest on this 75th Republic Day?

The Republic Day parade was held on Rajpath in Delhi. Soldiers, sailors, air force pilots, police officers, and even special security teams have marched while flaunting their skills, and the whole of India celebrated together while watching the grand event from the side of the road. This year, French President Emmanuel Macron was the chief guest, who was seen sitting beside Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He is the sixth French leader to celebrate the prestigious event with India.
