Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna's film Thama was being shot in full swing until January 2025. However, the Delhi schedule was halted because of Rashmika's leg injury. Filmmaker Aditya Sarpotdar resumed the vampire comedy's shoot last week after a month-and-a-half break. Nawazuddin Siddiqui was expected to join the film's shoot in February. However, things have been reworked.

Thama shoot back on track?

According to a Mid-Day report, Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna are currently shooting in real locations in Mumbai. They are filming Thama along with their co-star Paresh Rawal. On March 27, the cast and crew will reportedly move to Film City for the shoot. Sets reflecting Delhi houses and streets have been built.

"The sequences that were earmarked for Delhi will be filmed here instead. Nawazuddin will join the proceedings then. The director is aiming for a Diwali release. After wrapping up the Mumbai leg by late April, the unit will be Ooty-bound by May. They will film the required portions in the Nilgiri forest and wrap up the project by May-end," a source told the tabloid.

Although it is known that Thama is set in two timelines, the latest buzz is that the film has a strong love story. The vampire comedy will reportedly explore unrequited love through a central character.

"Though set in present-day Delhi where Ayushmann is a historian, the narrative is laced with flashbacks that take viewers to the ancient city of Vijayanagar, where the love story begins," the source revealed.

When and where to watch Thama?

For those unaware, Thama is scheduled for a theatrical release on Diwali 2025. The makers made an official announcement about the vampire comedy in 2024. While sharing the announcement video, Maddock Films penned, "Dinesh Vijan’s Horror Comedy Universe needed a love story... unfortunately, it's a bloody one (sic)."

Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik have bankrolled the movie. On the other hand, Niren Bhatt, Suresh Mathew and Arun Falara have written the film's story.
