Malayalam action queen Vani Viswanath and youth star Sreenath Basi are set to grace the silver screen with their upcoming medical drama film, Azadi. The makers have now dropped a character teaser of the film that offers the intriguing world of Azadi that unfolds in a hospital set up.

Azadi’s plot and lead characters

Sreenath takes on the role of an ordinary man entangled in a mysterious situation, while Vani steps into the shoes of a police officer who is determined to solve a complex case on the hospital premises. Dubbing artist and actress Raveena Ravi appears to essay the role of a victim, whose clip from the teaser leaves viewers intrigued to know more. The movie promises an electrifying crime drama experience, set to engage viewers with its gripping plot. The film is currently under production, and is slated to hit the theatres in 2024.

Cast and crew of the medical drama film

Helmed by Jo George, the movie’s ensemble cast includes Lal, Saiju Kurup, TG Ravi, Rajesh Sharma, Boban Samuel, Sabu Ami, Jilu Joseph, Abhiram, Anthony Elur and Abin Bino. The film is bankrolled by Faisal Raja, under the banner of Little Crew Productions.

Vani Viswanath makes a comeback to Mollywood after 10 years

Vani is making a comeback after a 10-year hiatus. Her last film in Malayalam was Mannar Mathai Speaking 2, which was the sequel to comedy entertainer Mannar Mathai Speaking. She had earlier announced a movie with her husband, actor-director Baburaj, titled The Criminal Lawyer. Touted to be a crime thriller, more updates about the film are awaited. 

Raveena Ravi’s second film in Mollywood

Following her mother’s path, Raveena embarked on her professional journey as a dubbing artist before venturing into acting in Tamil and Malayalam films. After her most recent role in Mari Selvaraj’s Maamannan, the actress is now set to make her second appearance in Malayalam cinema.
