Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires, the Spanish adult animated superhero flick, finally released in India on JioHotstar (accessible via OTTplay Premium) today, on November 23. The movie is the new version of the DC character Batman that tells the story of a young Aztec prince, who, after witnessing his father's murder by the Spanish conquistadors, leaves the town and shift to the capital, Tenochtitlan, where he begins special training for revenge.
What to expect from Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires
The story follows the life of Yohualli Coatl who's father is murdered. In Tenochtitlan, he gets trained under bat god Tzinacan, and within a few months Coalt turns into a warrior, gaining a bat-like persona to strike fear into his enemies. While the central conflict is between the Aztec noble and the Spanish conquistadors, Yohualli also delves into saving people like a superhero and fulfil his duties.
In this new reimagining, other Batman characters are given Aztec-inspired roles. For instance, Catwoman appears as the Jaguar Woman, and the Joker is a hugh-ranked priest named Yoka. While Two-Face is named Cortés, there's a jaguar warrior named Jaguar Woman. Poison Ivy appears as an Aztec deity called Forest Ivy.
Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires grossed $663 million at the box worldwide, as per Box Office Mojo. The animated flick ranked 8th at the Mexican box office throughout the eight weekend and became the 4th highest-grossing animated movie as well.
