It's hard to forget the impact that SS Rajamouli's Baahubali created across the globe. It's a moment etched in the history books of Indian cinema, has been and will be remembered for many more years to come. Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Tamannaah, Anushka Shetty, Ramya Krishna and Nasser in the lead, the fantasy film paved a way for the pan-Indian cinema trend and continues to celebrated by critics and fans of the stars.
The best part of Baahubali's promotional strategy is the extension of its cinematic universe through its merchandise - from an Android game to VR to books, clothing and more. Now, Audible, the much sought out audiobook destination for many, has announced that Graphic India’s popular series based on the film, Baahubali: The Lost Legends, will be available in English and Hindi. Listeners can lose themselves in the Baahubali universe again on the Audible app and Alexa-enabled devices after syncing their Audible account.
Baahubali: The Lost Legends' English version is available for Audible users, while its Hindi version is available for all Audible and Alexa users at no cost. It can be accessed on the Amazon Echo range of smart speakers, Fire TV, Amazon shopping app and Alexa built-in devices. The audio series is full of stories on various characters from the world of Baahubali, including the title character, Bhallaladeva, Kattapa and Sivagami and many new characters.
Produced by Arka Media Works and Graphic India, Baahubali: The Lost Legends, (which released as an animation series on Amazon Prime Video earlier) comprises thirty-five episodes in the first season, revolving around the hidden stories of the young princes, Amarendra Baahubali and Bhallaladeva in the Mahishmati kingdom, set before the Kalakeya invasion in the movie. In a phase where the cousins Baahubali and Bhallaladeva are still young princes of Mahishmati, they compete to rule the kingdom with guidance from Sivagami, and their loyal warrior Katappa.
Shobu Yarlagadda (producer of Baahubali), Sharad Devarajan (Graphic India Co-Founder) and Shailesh Sawlani (VP and Country GM, Audible India) conveyed their excitement about taking audiences on an adventurous ride beyond the film and discover more dimensions of the lead characters.
(Baahubali 1 and 2 are streaming on Disney+ Hotstar)
