Baazi trailer release: Jeet-Mimi starrer potboiler promises to add colours to your Durga Pujo festivity

The commercial potboiler, a remake of the 2016 Telugu film Nannaku Prematho starring Jr NTR and Rakul Preet Singh, marks the first on-screen pairing of Jeet and actor-MP Mimi Chakraborty.

Jeet-starrer action-thriller Baazi dropped the trailer today. Helmed by Anshuman Pratyush, the Bengali film is set for a theatrical release during the Durga Pujo on October 10, which also clashes with Dev-starrer sports biopic Golondaaj.

The Saat Paake Bandha actor took to his Twitter today to announce the trailer drop.

“The ringmaster knows that the Royal Bengal tiger is a hunter, and does not perform tricks in circus,” says Jeet’s character Aditya Mukherjee to open the trailer, as he packs punches and kicks on the bad guys. The nearly three-minute trailer shows glimpses of a revenge and saving-dad saga, wherein Aditya, who loves his father and business magnate Rudrapratap Mukherjee played by Abhishek Chatterjee dearly. He can be seen as someone who can go to any extent to save his father's neck from trouble. Sabyasachi Mukherjee plays the antagonist, Krishna Kumar, who tricks Rudrapratap and takes his wealth. Now suffering from a terminal illness, Rudrapratap has only 30 days to live. Aditya must now race against time to do all that’s needed to save his life, which starts with targeting Krishna Kumar’s daughter, Kyra played by Mimi Chakraborty, as part of his plan.

Aditya plans to take away the entire wealth of the conman Krishna Kumar in 25 days. The trailer hints at a commercial potboiler packed with massy dialogues, action, drama, and romance.

Baazi should be special for fans of Jeet as he pairs up with actor MP Mimi Chakraborty for the first time. It is the official remake of the 2016 Telugu film Nannaku Prematho starring Jr NTR and Rakul Preet Singh. The shoot for the film wrapped up in October last year and a teaser was released in February this year. The film was initially slated to premiere on May 14, but the pandemic situation pushed back the release to October 10.

The film is being produced by Jeet himself along with Gopal Madnani, Amit Jumrani under his banner Jeetz Filmworks. Popular music director Jeet Gannguli has done the music and Ambu Selvan has done the background score.
