Babil Khan, who was recently seen in Logout, deactivated his Instagram account after sharing a video where he called out Bollywood and took several celebrities' names, such as Ananya Panday, Arjun Kapoor, and more. A while ago, Babil's family and team shared an official statement regarding the incident and informed everyone that the mentions of these artists came from genuine admiration.
Addressing the now-deleted video of Babil Khan where he slammed Bollywood and several actors, his family and team shared a long statement through Sutapa Sikdar's Instagram account.
The statement read, "Over the past few years, Babil Khan has earned immense love and appreciation for his work, as well as for his openness about his mental health journey. Like anyone else, Babil is allowed to have difficult days — and this was one of them. We want to reassure all his well-wishers that he is safe and will be feeling better soon. That said, a video of Babil has been widely misinterpreted and taken out of context."
It further read, "In the clip, Babil was sincerely acknowledging a few of his peers whom he believes are making meaningful contributions to the evolving landscape of Indian cinema. His mention of artists like Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raghav Juyal, Adarsh Gourav, Arjun Kapoor, and Arijit Singh came from a place of genuine admiration — for their authenticity, passion, and efforts to restore credibility and heart in the industry."
They urged the media publications and the public to consider the full context of his words rather than concluding from fragmented video clips.
In the clip, Babil, the son of the late actor Irrfan Khan, was seen saying, “Bollywood is so f***ed. Bollywood is so, so rude." He mentioned several names, including Shanaya Kapoor, Ananya Panday, Arjun Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raghav Juyal, Adarsh Gourav, and even Arijit Singh. After the video went viral in no time, Babil deleted his Instagram account, leading fans to become concerned.
Babil was recently seen in Logout. The ZEE5 film is available for streaming on OTTplay Premium. The film focuses on the side effects of social media and how the addiction can affect a person's private life.
