Not too long ago, Logout actor Babil Khan's Instagram story went viral on the internet. It happened right before the actor was supposed to commence shooting for Baby remake. During the fallout with Sai Rajesh (the director of the original Telugu version as well), Babil left even Govinda (Bhagam Bhag actor)'s son in a fix. The movie, which was going to mark Yashvardhan Ahuja's Bollywood debut, has now been put on indefinite hold.

Yashvardhan Ahuja's Bollywood debut on hold

Govinda's son Yashvardhan Ahuja was going to make his Bollywood debut with Baby's Hindi adaptation. The movie would have marked his collaboration with Babil, but now that Babil is out following a confrontation with director Sai Rajesh, the project might be on hold. A source told PeepingMoon, "The makers spent nearly six months finalizing the female lead, a debutante, and now face the daunting task of recasting the male lead. It’s going to take a lot of time. As of now, the production is on hold, with no confirmed timeline for resuming."

Sai Rajesh's harsh criticism for Babil Khan over the viral video led to a heated exchange between the actor and director. Babil decided to quit the movie two weeks after. The team is now searching for his replacement but it is taking longer than expected. With it, Govinda's son Yashvardhan's Bollywood debut dreams seem distant. Although we hear that the movie is not on the backburner yet, it sure is on indefinite hold till the makers can bring in a new male lead to replace Babil.

The original film, Baby

The original Telugu movie Baby featured Anand Deverakonda and Viraj Ashwin. The movie was a high-school sweetheart story whose relationship gets tested with the complexities of growing up and sailing through changing times. More than love itself, the story is about self-discovery. Given how the Hindi adaptation was retaining the story, now with the lead actor missing, the film might take more time to take off than expected.
