Tamannaah Bhatia is gearing up for her upcoming film, Babli Bouncers, which features her in one of her quirkiest avatars yet. The film will see the actress essay the role of a female bouncer, who comes from a village called Fatehpur Beri, popularly known as the ‘Village of Bouncers’. On an appearance on The Kapil Sharma Show, director Madhur Bhandarkar had revealed that he had come across the story of the actual village while doing research for the film. Here’s all you need to know about Asola-Fatehpur Beri, aka The Village of Bouncers.

Asola-Fatehpur Beri is a village located on the outskirts of Delhi. What makes the village stand out is the fact that a majority of its male population dedicate most of their lives to bodybuilding and fitness. According to a CNN report, generations of men, starting from their pre-teen years, commit themselves to strenuous workouts and strict diets every day to muscle up and build their bodies.

The men spend almost four hours each day training in all sorts of physical activities, including mud wrestling, rope climbing and more, working towards a singular goal - to get hired as bouncers in Delhi. The muscle men of Asola-Fatehpur Beri have capitalised on the demand for bouncers in high end Delhi nightclubs, with most of the men from the village nabbing spots as bouncers in the capital city whenever spots open up.

Vijay Tanwar, who had been head trainer at a popular training spot in the village years ago, reportedly started the trend, becoming one of the first people from the village to become a bouncer. Tanwar had initially trained to be an olympic wrestler, but when things didn't go as planned, he had gone in search of jobs which could make good use of his physical prowess, and had come upon the job of a bouncer.

Meanwhile, Babli Bouncer, which also features Saurabh Shukla, Abhishek Bajaj and Sahil Vaid, will premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on September 23.
