Baburaj will once again don the khaki for the Alphonse Puthren directorial Gold, which has Prithviraj Sukumaran and Nayanthara in the lead. The actor recently shared a photo with him in police uniform along with Prithviraj on the sets of the movie.

The veteran actor, who was last seen in Fahadh Faasil’s Joji earlier this year, has been busy in both Malayalam and Tamil film industries. Impressed by his performance as Jomon in the Dileesh Pothan directorial, which was released on Amazon Prime Video, the actor was offered a pivotal role in Vishal’s Tamil movie V31, which is directed by Thu Pa Saravannan. Baburaj plays the antagonist in the movie, which has him in the role of a MP’s son who has his own political ambitions while Vishal stars as a youth who has just been selected to join the police force.

Baburaj will also be seen as a police officer in SJ Sinu’s Theru, which has Amith Chakalakkal in the lead. The movie is based on the incidents that youth in the State have to face while travelling, including harassment from cops, Amith had earlier told us.

Meanwhile, Gold is touted to be a black comedy-thriller, in the lines of Alphonse’s previous film Neram, which had Nivin Pauly and Nazriya Nazim in the lead. Apart from Prithviraj and Nayanthara, Gold also has Vinay Forrt and Ajmal Ameer. The investigation carried out by Baburaj’s character is reportedly a crucial phase in the film. Coincidentally, Prithviraj had played a cop in Manushya Mrugam, which was directed by Baburaj in 2011.
