Arun Varma’s next directorial venture, Baby Girl, was officially launched recently. But the upcoming Malayalam movie was in the news after reports said that Baby Girl’s lead actor Kunchacko Boban would be opting out of the project due to scheduling conflicts and that he is likely to be replaced by Nivin Pauly. Though there was no official confirmation on this, online trackers claim that Nivin Pauly would be joining the shoot of Baby Girl soon. Here’s the round-up on all the updates on Arun Varma’s Baby Girl.
The shoot of Baby Gir, directed by Arun Varma and penned by Bobby-Sanjay, began last week in Thiruvananthapuram. Though the cast and crew attended the official launch ceremony, the lead actor Kunchacko Boban was not present. This led to speculations that the Anjaam Pathiraa star is being replaced by Nivin Pauly.
Now, trackers have said that the Malayalee From India actor would be joining the shoot of Baby Girl from April 12 (Saturday). However, the makers have not given any official confirmation about this.
The upcoming film, touted to be a thriller, features Lijomol Jose, Sangeeth Prathap of Premalu fame, Marco villain Abhimanyu Thilakan, and Aziz Nedumangad, among others.
Baby Girl is backed by Listin Stephen under his banner, Magic Frames. Notably, Listin had also backed the 2011 film Traffic, which was penned by Bobby-Sanjay and featured Kunchacko Boban in a key role. When Baby Girl was first announced earlier this year, netizens had hailed it as the return of the Traffic trio.
Baby Girl is also said to be a thriller, set in the Kerala capital of Thiruvananthapuram, and features the events that unfold within a day. There is a lot of expectation around Baby Girl because of the formidable Bobby and Sanjay, who have penned several notable films such as How Old Are You and Mumbai Police. Baby Girl marks Arun Varma’s sophomore directorial after Garudan, which was also produced by Listin Stephen. The 2023 film featured Suresh Gopi and Biju Menon in the lead roles.
